I am the unstarving artist.
I am a writer, from press releases to poetry, I’ve written it all. My passion for writing began in high school, thanks to my junior year English teacher who found my voice on paper even though it didn’t always shine in person. From there, my career developed into a double major in English and journalism with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in psychology.
Despite spending the majority of the last few years on the East coast, I am a Chicago girl at heart. I landed in my favorite city and suddenly became really hungry. I shifted my focus to food, beverage and entertainment writing – I know what it good and how to capture flavors in a paragraph.
A perfectionist who has a lot of pride in my work, when I am not photographing dishes and chasing down the next restaurant opening, I am devoted to the friends who enhance and define my life. My eclectic palate was born in Europe, where I spent a year abroad. The take-on-the-world-one-city-at-a-time mentality runs through my writing.
Now, you can find my words gracing Zagat and Rundown. My work has also appeared in Redeye, Metromix and Chicagoist. I eat too much and drink even more. The biggest hazard of my job is becoming too pretentious about the balance of a cocktail and preparation of a cheeseburger.
